Boxing: Manny Pacquiao Believes He Is A Better Fighter For Getting Knocked Out By Marquez
We are less than a month away from the May 2nd mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio and both fighters are starting to pull out all the stops.
Some of those things include mind games and Manny Pacquiao might be trying to get that going now by saying he is a better boxer thanks to Juan Marquez knocking him out.
I guess that could be true because you learn from your mistakes but who really knows.
“The loss I suffered to Timothy Bradley I do not consider that a loss. I accept the decision from the judges because that is part of boxing, but I felt I won that fight without a doubt. When I fought Bradley in the rematch I made sure to fight out for the full 12 rounds. I wanted my world title belt back and I wanted to prove I was the better fighter.
“The lesson I learned from Marquez was patience. I got too over anxious for the knockout when I had Marquez hurt. Knockouts should never be forced. I had Marquez badly hurt on the ropes. When I heard the ten second warning for the round I thought I could finish him off with one last barrage of punches. I made a mistake and Marquez caught me with the perfect right counterpunch. He was the wrong fighter to make that mistake against…..I think I have become a better fighter since that loss”
One thing is for sure, we will find out if any of this holds weight on May 2nd!
