(Video) Lil Weezyana Fest Was A Major Hit But Apple And Tidal Had Beef Over The Live Stream

The lips were super tight in Lil Wayne’s camp regarding the full lineup and set list for lil Wayne’s first annual Lil Weezyana Fest in his hometown of NOLA, and for good reason…surprise!!! Drake performed live…but for some reason, his part of the performance wasn’t streamed live on Tidal like the rest of the performances by the Hot Boys, Master P and others…
Ok, so maybe it wasn’t full on beef between Apple and Tidal…since Drake has a deal with Apple’s streaming service and Weezy has his with Tidal, but since Tidal posted this during Drake’s performance:
1/2 Apple is interfering with artistry and will not allow this artist to stream. Sorry for Big Brother’s inconvenience.

2/2 We'll be back after the performance.

…what else were we left to think? Later, Drake’s manager, Future the Prince stated:
“The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal stream has nothing to do with Apple or Drake’s deal. … Point blank, 100%. I made a business decision. Apple doesn’t have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The only people that have the power to do that are Cash Money and Universal, and they’re our partners. … We wanted to make sure the stream represented us in the right way, and we didn’t have much insight into what they were doing. Aesthetics and quality are important to us and we didn’t have any control over that or time to investigate it. We were just there to participate in the benefit.”
Interesting…I wonder what exactly led to his executive decision…we may never know, but we can speculate. #IJS
