NBA: LeBron Passes His Idol Allen Iverson For All Time Scoring

During the 101-83 whipping of the Knicks today, LeBron was able to surpass one of his childhood heros for NBA all-time points scored. Allen Iverson drops down to #22 and LeBron is that much closer to #1.
James, the 3rd highest scorer in NBA history is averaging 27.4 points per game and looks to pass #21 Ray Allen in about 5 games or (122 points).
“It’s very, very humbling and it’s an honor to just be named with some of the greats that I watched growing up,” James said after the game. “And now to know that I passed Allen Iverson on the all-time scoring list, for someone that’s not much of a scorer — as you guys have deemed me — it is pretty cool.”
According to ESPN, James’ quip was directed at media doubtfuls who never predicted that James would excel since he was more of a passer at the beginning of his career.
